A rapist in New York prison turns down heart transplant

ROCHESTER, New York (AP) — Sister prisoner New York State prison serving time on a female raping a 12-year-old in 1996, said her brother denied a heart transplant. Kenneth Pike was raised from Koksaki prison in Hudson Valley, strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester last week for transplantation revaluation. The Department of corrections confirmed Monday that it was Pike But later Monday, Pike's sister, Sharon Cardinal Auburn, the media, her brother changed his mind about transplantation after news sparked debate on prisoners receiving organ transplants at the expense of the taxpayers. 55-year-old Pike 18-40 years, is serving a sentence for rape. Another relative, said he recently underwent a triple bypass and will most likely die without a transplant.
